  • Print on acetate

  • Reverse the image, placing it on the table

  • Set a timer for 2 minutes

  • Metal halide lamp exposure unit - UV light

  • Take the reversed acetate

  • Switch light off

  • Place screen under lamp

  • Place acetate image on top for 2 minutes

  • Take over to wash bay and clean with hose until the screen goes clear

  • Dry but don't rub too hard

  • Dry off the screen with the hairdryer for a couple of minutes, moving it constantly and dabbing with paper towel to get it completely dry

  • Fix screen into the hinged base

  • Place some newsprint along each edge or on any little dots where the emulsion has washed out. Do not place on the inside for obvious reasons

  • Lift up the screen

  • Line up the acetate underneath the screen to where you want it and tape down background paper

  • Remove acetate

  • Add 50% colour then 50% Acrylic printing solution then mix

  • Green squeegee is softer, blue is harder. Paper is better for hard and fabric for soft as you need to push the solution into the material

  • Lifting up the screen Place another piece of paper on top of the background paper

  • Place plenty of the solution at the top of the screen and using the squeegee, pull backwards hard

  • Take the paper out, close the screen with a stopper underneath and slowly spread the ink solution to stop the screen drying out

  • Lift up and place new piece of paper underneath to do another print. Repeat the previous two steps

  • Take screen back over to wash bay before it dries out, do not use the jet wash

  • Turn the screen over to the topside, spray some washing up liquid over it, wipe it down and then hose it.

  • Let your prints dry before doing the next screen.

  • Line up the previous print under the screen

  • Repeat printing and cleaning process
